The Mad Dogs performed exceptionally well at the
NHL Rules tournament this past weekend. Five Mad Dog
teams entered and two won Gold and two won Silver
medals. The 8U and 10U teams dominated their divisions.
The 8U Mad Dog team trounced the Richmond Rattlers,
last years USA Hockey inline 8U national champion.
The 10U White team allowed only two goals the entire
tournament, "mercying" almost all their
opponents.
The 12U team lost 2-0 to the Gators in a heartbreak
final. The 12UMad Dog team dominated most of the game,
out skating the Gators and clearly outshooting them,
but penalties near the end allowed the Gators to pull
ahead. What a game!
In the 14U final, the Mad Dogs lost 4-0 to a very
strong team after dominated the previous games.
In the skills competition, Mad Dogs competing in the
8U, 10U and 12U categories and completely dominated
the contests. Out of a total of 32 possible contests
Mad Dogs competed for, we won 19 Gold medals and six
silver medals. I don't think I have ever seen a club
so dominate a skills contest like this.
Congrats to all Mad Dogs!
