The
Mad Dogs Cups and Championships for 2005
2005 was a banner year for the Mad Dogs and firmly
established the Mad Dogs as the most successful inline
hockey club in the region’s history. Our major
accomplishments are as follows:
• One Mad Dog team won a National Championship
(U10, AAU)
• Mad Dog teams made it to the final championship
game at Nationals on three other occasions.
• Mad Dog teams placed in the final four at national
championships on ten separate occasions.
• Mad Dog teams won a total of 14 regional championships
and placed 2nd at regionals on ten other occasions.
• Five Mad Dogs played for AAU’s Team USA
this year against international competition.
• Due to the performance of various Mad Dog players,
the AAU will be inviting over 20 Mad Dogs to Team USA
tryout camp next April.
• One Mad Dog was selected to play for the USA
Hockey Inline National Junior Team.
• Mad Dogs players were recruited this year from
over ten different travel ice hockey clubs including
the Statesmen, Little Caps, Xtreme, Reston Raiders,
Frederick Fury, Prince William, Bowie, Tri-City, Jr.
Capitals and Montgomery.
No other inline club in the regional has a record this
consistent up and down the various age brackets. For
a club that is four years old, this is a huge accomplishment.
